Loft 21 is a 31,000-square-foot events venue located in the Village of Lincolnshire. Formerly the old Cubby Bear North, the building had seen better days, and was in a state of toal dilapidation. To take the massive space from rough and rotten to an ultra-modern, state-of-the-art divisible floorplan for large-scale weddings, corporate events and social soirees, required a full demo which presented problem after problem, including rotting wood, dangerous mold and more. A limited budget and a tight timeline demanded that JackLee be flexible in terms of time management and insightful when it came to coming up with creative design solutions for elements including a bar and a second-story mezzanine, all while blocking and tackling the challenges that come from working with first-time owners. The Loft 21 project also required that JackLee meld form and function to develop design elements from people who have to get into the annex.
